Janne Nurminen will lead the development of One4all’s digital services
We have a new CTO! Janne Nurminen, who has had a versatile career in the IT field, will now be responsible for our technology strategy and the development of our digital services. He steps into this important role naturally, bringing with him 25 years of experience across various systems and environments. Janne has been involved in building some of Finland’s largest marketplaces and also has experience from the startup world, particularly in health tech and transportation services. He began his career working with property management systems, so joining One4all is, in a way, a return to his roots.
Janne’s experience in IT spans a wide range of roles and services, enabling him to bridge strong technical understanding with business needs. Having studied computer science, futures research, and philosophy, Janne naturally reflects on why things are done, who they provide value for, and what alternative development paths might need to be considered.
In his work with technologies, Janne is motivated by continuous learning, clear goals, and the opportunity to make an impact. From his time in the startup world, he brings valuable insights into how modern teams operate and the importance of experimentation in developing digital services.
“The software industry has become quite good at producing code through its development processes. But there’s still a lot to improve in terms of whether we’re even building the right thing, or whether the output brings any measurable benefit.”
Architecture is also close to Janne’s heart: “Developers may know the code like the back of their hands, but in the long run, overall architecture plays a crucial role. At the architectural level, deep understanding isn’t enough — you also need breadth.”
So why did Janne choose us? “One4all is at a very interesting stage as a company. A strategic decision has been made to bring development fully in-house, and the company is aiming for its next growth leap. That means making sure technological solutions support business goals. At the same time, it’s essential to invest in building the team and developing competence. I believe that both as companies and as people, we exist for one another. From experience, I know what a motivated and unified team can achieve – who wouldn’t want to be part of that?”
Over the years, Janne has found time for other pursuits as well. Environmental issues are important to him, and his technical skills have been used in the creation of environmental services, voting advice applications, campaigns, and tree-planting projects. He’s also played a role in the “Kilometrikisa” (Kilometer Race), a cycling challenge promoting everyday and commuter cycling, which raises funds for climate work coordinated by the Finnish Red Cross.
Janne balances his demanding and responsible role with family life, cottage work, sports, and making music.
