Arvolukko & One4all – this is how cooperation with a locksmith works

Access control integrated into our electronic reservation system is an essential part of our services. That is why the cooperation between the locksmith and us must be flawless. But what is our cooperation with a locksmith like in practice and what does the joint process between One4all and a locksmith involve?

We had a chat with Arvolukko Oy’s Project Manager Antti Hirvo and System Expert Mikko Vessman about the general process and our cooperation model. By reading this article, it will be easier for developers, building company representatives, and why not other locksmiths to understand what the introduction of electronic locking and the reservation calendar entails.

Arvolukko and One4all speak a mutual language

Let’s imagine that we are facing a new construction project. At what point in the project does the cooperation between One4all and Arvolukko start?

“We usually meet right away during the initial mapping of the object. One4all’s representative and Arvolukko’s project manager go over what facilities are included in the project, how they should function and what special challenges or special situations need to be taken into account. Based on this information, One4all usually delivers a well-prepared proposal on the structure and possibilities of the reservation system, and based on them we create calendars for the locking system,” says Project Manager Antti Hirvonen.

“We speak the same language from the very start and the initial mapping of the project – we have the same goal, which is to produce a working framework for a residential building. A common language and understanding of each other’s roles makes it easier to work together and it is easy to act when both have the same common goal,” Antti continues.

“The mutual order is also clear and if there is a revelation of any sort, it is communicated openly in one direction and the other. One way or another, we always make everything work,” Mikko says.

“Whatever we have come up with, One4all has always come up with a solution for it. Of course, new features also come from One4all, most recently a temporary door code*, which they developed to meet the customer’s needs that emerged during the initial mapping process,” says Antti.

*The temporary door code turned into One4all Access, an easy-to-use temporary door code that the resident can create by themself and distribute, for example, to a courier. Read more about One4all Access.

The practical implementation is cooperation until the end

What happens after the initial survey and planning?

“When the plans are made, I enter the picture and the implementation is taken to the technical level. Locking products are programmed and we create door control calendars and connections as well as user IDs. With them, One4all can create calendar controls for their reservation system.

When the object is ready and in order, we always do test drives. All door controls, heater controls and washing machine controls are tested and it is jointly ensured that everything works as it should,” says Mikko Vessman, who is responsible for the technical implementation.

One4all’s services bring concrete added value to the locksmith company

In what ways does cooperation with One4all benefit the locksmith?

“One4all has a system that you can trust and recommend without worry. So when our customer needs similar solutions, One4all is a partner we can recommend,” Antti answers.

“There are many kinds of systems available in the world, but we don’t want to pay tuition fees for their possible bugs and shortcomings. One4all is constantly developing its system, and with low-hierarchy cooperation, it is easy to agree on changes or modifications, if there is a need for such.

Many companies have their headquarters abroad and it is an almost impossible task to get the voice of a small Finnish locksmith to be heard. At One4all, our voice is heard and our ideas are gladly accepted,” he continues.

“I agree with Antti. The system is reliable and functional, and the staff knows what they’re doing – you never have to worry that things wouldn’t be taken care of. Testing and cooperation always works, even with short notice,” says Mikko.

A reliable system brings predictability and saves resources

“Some partners are practically impossible to reach by phone, which makes schedules longer – which is difficult to explain to your own customer. With One4all, you can trust that things will work”, Mikko continues.

“If something doesn’t work, there is always a report to the locksmith, but when working with One4all, we don’t get reports. Likewise, if any defects occur, the locksmith has to carry out the visit checks free of charge. That’s why we want to choose a system that minimizes errors, and One4all’s system is like that,” Antti sums up.

The future of locking is digital

What does the future of the locking industry look like?

“The possibilities of locking are limitless and only the sky’s the limit. Digitization will continue its course, there is no going back to the old mechanical locking system,” says Antti.
