Töölön Kesäkatu by Auratum Asunnot Invests in Living Experience and Community

Töölön Kesäkatu, named Finland’s finest residential building, is a uniquely spectacular destination from a Finnish perspective. From the outset, its design and execution have focused on providing the highest quality living experience.

In the project developed by Auratum Asunnot Helsinki, living has been approached as a comprehensive concept, considering all aspects of residential needs. The result is an exceptionally high-quality and community-friendly complex, featuring premium facilities, housing services, and a digital housing service platform.

According to Auratum Asunnot Area Manager Janne Hietala and Housing Service Director Minna Fontell, the goal was to create Finland’s finest residential building from the start, where community and quality converge to make living easy.

A high-quality living experience stems from carefully considered details

On the Finnish scale, Töölön Kesäkatu is exceptional. The residential building with 146 apartments has been meticulously renovated into the historically significant premises of the YLE – Yleisradio.

Every detail of the residential units has been carefully thought out, as one would expect in such a prestigious location.

What makes this place particularly exceptional are the communal spaces available to residents. A spacious and bright lobby forms a common living room for the residents, resembling the lobby of a luxury hotel. The entrances to the stairwells are also well-lit and open, and only One4all’s digital notice boards with resident information reveal that it is a residential building.

Traditional sauna facilities have been replaced with a complete spa area, offering not only traditional saunas but also a swimming pool, cold pool, sensory shower, and steam sauna.

The building’s spacious gym meets the demands of even the most discerning fitness enthusiasts and is acoustically designed to ensure that gym sounds do not carry throughout the building.

Residents can enjoy everyday luxury in facilities such as the swimming pool or steam sauna.

A solution to the mess caused by domestic muddy weather has been found through a shared mudroom – a feature that every dog owner will surely appreciate. In the parking garage below the building, there is also a separate car wash station, with time slots reserved through One4all’s electronic booking calendar, similar to the shared laundry room slots.

Booking calendars for the building’s facilities are used moderately because communal spaces are openly available for residents, and their use is encouraged.

“This is an important part of the living experience – services are included in the fee, and therefore their use has not been restricted,” says Minna Fontell, Housing Service Director at Auratum Asunnot.

One4all’s digital services are part of a high-quality living experience

Digitalization is part of modern life, and digital services are integral to high-quality living. Therefore, according to Minna, One4all’s service package was a natural choice for Auratum Asunnot in this project from the beginning.

A quality housing community should have a digital notice board in the stairwell, the content of which can be remotely adjusted. And today, living goes hand in hand with your mobile phone.

Auratum Asunnot has been using One4all’s services for almost 10 years, and the collaboration has been smooth. Minna mentions that choosing the service package was easy based on experience.

“When the product and service were already familiar, and clear instructions were available, including electrical connections, everything was largely clear from the planning stage.”

In Töölön Kesäkatu, there are digital notice boards in the stairwells, and residents have access to a resident application and an electronic booking calendar through it.

“In this project, we chose non-touch staircase digital notice boards for a calm and stylish overall look,” says Minna.

The notice boards show current resident information, contact details for property management and maintenance, as well as current announcements.

Otherwise, resident communication and making bookings have been centralized in the resident application, which residents can easily use anytime and anywhere, either through the application or a browser.

The keys to creating a community are now in the hands of the residents

Like all the details of the project, the digital service package was carefully considered to meet the needs of the residents. Functional resources for active and communal activities are available, and now it is up to the residents how they utilize them.

“How residents choose to use the services, and whether, for example, an active resident committee forms in the housing community, ultimately depends on the residents and the new board,” says Minna.

“At the opening event, a jazz duo performed in the lobby, and the acoustics worked really well in the space. I hope that residents actively take advantage of the lobby and its possibilities, perhaps through shared concert nights or gatherings,” Minna continues.

Time will tell.
